Is Psychotherapy Right For You?

YES!!! Everyone can benefit from having someone to talk to that provides guidance and assurance without judgement. Psychotherapy is for everybody---when they are ready for it and at certain times in their lives. It is a means to strive for improved overall well-being. My goal is to help you find the answers within yourself, to feel stronger and more confident. I want you to feel better about yourself, to believe in yourself and love yourself. Research shows that you should focus on the past and the future to find meaning and the present to achieve happiness. I believe that psychotherapy is a process that should address what is happening in your life right now AND have long lasting results. Even a relatively small change in one's perspective can lead to astounding shifts in well-being and quality of life.

What Is Positive Psychology?

Most practitioners approach psychotherapy with the model of deficiency or focusing on what is wrong with a person. Positive Psychology is about what makes life worth living for you...how to have a fulfilling life. The focus of this approach is on identifying your strengths and building on them to achieve a good life. It's about finding happiness, self-esteem, self-confidence, life satisfaction, and well-being.

Life is a journey full of choices. Women often put everyone else first. Kids. Relationships. Jobs. It is easy to get burnt-out, feel sad, stressed, or overwhelmed or just dissatisfied with life. It can be difficult to find time to take care of yourself, or do things for yourself when you are always taking care of others. I will help you practice self-care and provide you with mental and emotional support. I’m here to help guide you on your journey to uncovering your inner strengths, and identify goals based on your wants and needs. I help women who want to make positive changes in their lives, but are held back by fear/anxiety, stress, uncertainty, or simply doing things the way you have always done them. I can help you not only gain awareness and insight, but learn effective strategies for changing the way you think, feel and behave.

Through healing from past experiences and learning healthy coping strategies, you have the potential to achieve greater success, develop more meaningful and satisfying relationships, and create a more content and fulfilling life. It's about maximizing your potential!
